What types of meals do you serve?
We deliver two meals a day for our clients: one hot and one cold. Our food is all low in salt, fat and cholesterol content. We also offer medically-prescribed diets, such as renal or salt-free options.

 

Where do you prepare the meals?
Our meals are prepared with care by our partners Open Kitchens and the NorthShore University HealthSystem - Evanston Hospital

 

When are the meals delivered?
Our volunteers deliver meals Monday through Saturday between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. Meals can also be delivered on holidays upon request unless the holiday falls on a Sunday.

 

How much do the meals cost?
The cost of our meals is determined by client income. The regular cost per day is $12 for the two meals. Reduced fees are also available using a sliding scale. Approximately 60% of our clients qualify for reduced fees. To determine your meal cost, contact our office at 847-332-2678 or [contact email address].

 

Do you offer any other services?

Of course! We offer Friendly Visits where our volunteers can visit with our clients in person or on the phone. These visits are available upon request. Many of our clients and volunteers say they’ve made some great friends through the visiting part of our program. We also offer Shopping Assistance our volunteers will go to the grocery store for our clients to pick up a variety of foods, toiletries, and paper products. Besides the cost of the groceries themselves, there is no additional fee for this service.
