We make a huge difference in the health and wellbeing of thousands of older adults every day.

But much more is needed.

And with your help we could deliver more.

A lot has happened since Meals on Wheels NE Illinois opened its first food production facility in 2020. In February of 2022 MWNEI distributed more than 5,000 meals to older adults’ homes and we were rightfully pleased.

In February of 2023 only one year later, MWNEI served 17,517 meals. We project 220,000 meals will be served this year in a kitchen that was estimated to serve 100,000/year.

In addition to that rapid home delivered meal program growth, MWNEI added its first congregate dining program in 2022, which is already so popular that the room rented from the Village of Niles is overflowing into additional rooms …and an additional 900 meals/month are being produced in our little kitchen.

In the last days of January, a large caterer southwest of Chicago burned to the ground, escalating MWNEI’s request for certification and bringing contracts for four meal sites in Burbank, Stickney, Melrose Park, and Maywood. These meal provider contracts had always been a part of MWNEI’s plan to increase the organization’s sustainability, a great positive for our organization.

And word is spreading about our food. More organizations would like our meals for their programs. MWNEI has outgrown its space. But much more is needed. And with your help we can deliver so much more.

Let’s deliver more.

We have a proven, growing model. Let’s keep the momentum. Let’s continue the smiles. Let’s continue to demonstrate what a Meals on Wheels organization looks like now.

We set the bar for others. We can deliver more. Let’s build this for better A1c. Better mental health. Better strength after surgery. Better quality of life. Better community.

Let’s deliver more.

deliver more yum.
deliver more love.
deliver more connection
deliver more health.
deliver more community
And with your help we can deliver more.

Let’s deliver more together.
